Inspiration: Oyster Mushroom
The inspiration for this lamp was an image of oyster mushrooms, growing on top of each other in different shapes and sizes. I wanted to design a lamp that mimics nature, creating an effect of big mushrooms growing indoors. I designed four different sizes, in order to make the mushroom sizes random like it is in nature. The lamps design requires no glue, all of the pieces fit in together perfectly due to the accurately-cut dents in the pieces. This also makes the lamp customizable, which allows the user to change the order of the pieces. The making of this lamp was done by the lasercutter. The many pieces and very precise engraving and cuts would be very difficult to do by hand.
