Name: Multi-uSe
Material: 18mm Plywood, 8mm Acrylic, Epoxy Resin
Inspiration: “S” Shape
My graduation project: A modular furniture piece inspired by the shape of the letter “S”. I wanted to design a sidetable that would have more than 1 surface, allowing the user to place and categorize items. The beauty of this product is not only visual, but also functional. Multi-uSe is designed in such a way, if the user has one Multi-uSe, it could be rotated and used in 2 different ways. If the user has more than one Multi-uSe, then the possibilities are endless. Multi-uSe can be rotated, stacked and combined, adapting to the users needs. It is made from 18 mm Plywood with a 8 mm Acrylic sheet going through it. The Acrylic sheet is removable, allowing the user to also change between color combinations. The plywood is bent without using steam, with a technique called kerf bending, which creates a very beautiful pattern on each bend. The cuts are filled with epoxy resin, which makes the structure very strong and durable. The triangular and linear pattern on each bend is exactly identical to each other, which makes this furniture piece even more beautiful and impressive than it already is.
